How to Have a Relationship With God Outside the Box of Religion

I spent twenty years going to Churches, looking for someone to love me. What I found was a bunch of busy people. Busy with their families, their jobs, their businesses, their bible studies, their Church services, keeping up with the Joneses, wearing facades, competing for positions, judging, condemning, ridiculing, mocking others and the list goes on and on. This rhetoric has nothing to do with having a relationship with God at all. We have all fallen for the strong delusion as spoken about in the New Testament,

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 2 Thessalonians 2:11 KJV

The problem with Christianity,  Judaism, and Messianic Judaism, is that there are so many lies circulating that it’s hard to know any particular, or single delusion. This is what I mean, Jews say they keep the Torah, and that the Torah is the lifespring of God from which the blueprint for successful societies are laid out. Point noted and yes, that is true. The problem with the Jews is that, for the most part they have made the Torah null and void by placing man-made commandments around God’s Commandments in an attempt to help one further abstain from breaking God’s Commandments, sort of a double dose of goodwill so one will keep God’s Commandments. The problem with this reasoning is that the advocates and writers of these precautionary steps have elevated such steps above the word of God and his Commandments. The Messiah dealt with this when he was on the earth. He was challenged about eating food with unwashed hands by the scribes and Pharisees of his day. Consider,

Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Matthew 15:1-9 KJV

Jewish sages, Rabbis and many others have built man-made fences around God’s Holy Commandments in an effort to please God. Instead all they have served to do is put heavy burdens on people and nullify the Word of God. The have so many man-made rules and laws and none of them are worth mentioning, none of them. One of the worst examples of how the Jews have made a mockery out of God’s Commandments is from Exodus,

The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk. Exodus 23:19 KJV.

Not only have the Jews added rules to this commandment, they’ve added a ton of man-made rules. First, this is a commandment based on common sense and mercy. It’s just wrong to boil a baby goat in its mother’s milk. That’s just wrong and God commanded the people to refrain from doing that. The problem is with the Jews they have made the commandment a dietary law, which it is not, and never will be. Because God is merciful he would not want this to be practiced, however, it was a common pagan practice of the day to boil a young goat in its mother’s milk. God, for these reasons did not want his people to follow the pagan traditions of the Canaanite’s who were about to be vomited out of the land.

The Jews, in their misguided, self-righteous zeal for God have taken the commandment to mean that you can’t eat milk with dairy. That means you are commanded to never eat a cheeseburger, eat beef stroganoff, can’t have beef macaroni and cheese. But it gets worse! You have to have two sinks in your home. One to wash the meat dishes and one to wash the dairy dishes, one refrigerator for meat and another for diary, separate plates for meat and separate plates for dairy, separate utensils for meat and separate utensils for dairy. I can’t say this any other way. Doesn’t that sound like absolute nonsense? Indeed it is. All God said was not to boil a young goat in its mother’s milk. Period. That is one of the main reasons Jews do not have a clue when it comes to having a relationship with God, none whatsoever. All they have is an empty set of rules that mean little or nothing to God. I will go with the latter on that one.

I have heard of young men in Jewish assemblies speeding through the reading of certain prayers to make a show. What does speed have to do with anything? Is that how you like to be talked to. Someone spitting out a new word every second which has nothing to do with connecting to the one who made him? This too is absurd. It’s all absurd. Modern Day Judaism is nothing more than a stench in God’s nostrils. A religion based on opinions and man-made rules. No wonder they have such a hard time in life with their enemies. Doesn’t the bible say in proverbs that if a man (country?) pleases the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him?

Now, let’s look at the business of Christianity. First, let me say that Christianity is a man-made religion that never had its origin in God. It came from a political ideology of an insane Roman Emperor who was trying to bolster his failing reign over a divided kingdom. What God intended was to have the Hebrew/Jewish people go out into all nations with their Hebrew/Jewish Messiah and His Torah and change the world from inside out. This did not happen. All Christians have is a very small part of the picture which is the New Testament. The New Testament was Messiah’s commentary on the Old Testament. He brought it out as one would with salt and a pot of stew. He made the Torah savory again and a delight to study and enjoy. A light burden and an easy yoke. The early congregations had a zeal for Torah and for Messiah who was the Torah (Word) that became flesh.

So, what have most Christians done with the Torah? They’ve thrown it out. Don’t need it anymore. Christ died and he took the Torah with him. It’s dead. Null. No good. Fools and blind guides! Don’t you know that these commandments that Messiah talked about were to bring us healing and life. Look around the world today. There are still a ton of Christian ministries and millions of Churches, but why is the world growing darker? It’s not that the devil is now a bigger bogey man than he was before was he? No, all he can do is lie and it looks to me that most Christians and Jews are eating man-made tradition out of his hand in exchange for what could be the greatest relationship they have ever known.

Another thing is that because Christians have thrown out the Torah, how could they ever be considered to be in Covenant with God? God is a covenant keeping God. If you are married, look at the ring on your finger. If you’re a man, what does that tell another woman who sees the ring on your hand? It tells them that you have entered into a marriage covenant with your wife. That ring is the sign that you are in covenant with your wife. So, what is the sign that a person is in covenant with God? Well, I can assure you that most Christians have no idea what the answer is to this question, none whatsoever. And for that reason, I’m not going to tell you. Write to me if you want an answer.

What I’m saying is that most, if not all, Christians are not in covenant with God, nor do they even consider wanting to be in covenant with him. All they want to do is delight in airing their own opinions, much like the Jews. Empty.

So, we see that there is absolutely no way the involvement in any one of these religions will ever bring a person close to God. It might get you close to your Pastor, Priest, or Rabbi, but attending services in any of these religions will never bring you to the place where you walk and talk with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Never. You will have to do things a lot differently if you want to have a relationship with God. Think about it. Don’t you think he has the ability to converse with you? Or is he mute, blind and dumb, like the God of Judaism, and Christianity? That god will never talk to you as he doesn’t exist.

Who is God? God is the Creator who fashioned everything we see and cannot see. He holds the world in his hand and at his choice, he raises and disposes leaders who will or will not do his bidding. He doesn’t need us, we need him. He is full of love and mercy, but with that love and mercy comes responsibility. We just can’t say, “Oh God loves me.” And then have no regard for his Torah who is the Messiah. Jews have a passion for man-made rules, Christians say there are no rules, “Well just stay here and love on Jesus, until he gives us the Kingdom. After all, we’re the bride of Christ, right?”

We’ve got a mess on our hands. Jews and Christians are so bent on having their religion as the focal point of accessing God when in reality, neither way could ever suffice to bring one to God.

So how do you access God? It’s really very simple. You have the answer in your bible. Read it. Pray to God to show you how to have a relationship with Him. One where he talks with you throughout the day. “Is that even possible?” You may ask. Yes, it is very possible, but keep in mind you will never achieve this without first leaving your religion behind. It’s time to grow up. We’ve been playing games with God. No more games. If you have read this and you are sincerely interested in having God talk to you on a daily basis, email me and I will tell you what has worked for me. Thank you and God bless you. One hint: God does not reveal himself to casual inquirers.
